IN MY FATHER'S HOUSE 1

THE BIG PICTURE
Nobody is an island. Every single being on planet earth is connected to the other either by birth or destiny and then life which is given only by God. We can therefore conclude by saying that God is the centre of our being. Acts 17:28 paints this picture much clearer saying;

“For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring”

Colossians 1:17 goes on to say that we all consist in Him in other words, God is our focal point which makes the whole world one big family. We are therefore God’s off springs however, the entry of sin into the world brought about a division which split God’s big family. Permit me to say that God is not happy about this division and this you will notice in the acceptability of the prodigal son by his father in Luke 15:20. Hence, as a way of concluding my introduction to this subject let me say that nobody out rightly make boasts about what he has until he has successfully made comparison with others and that’s exactly what Jesus did as He declared the components of His father’s house.

In John 14:2 Jesus states boldly;

“In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you...”

You will agree with me that the above voice doesn’t sound doubting or uncertainty. He didn’t say “In my father’s house, I think there are mansions there” or “In my father’s house, I will go and prepare a place...” He said “In my Father's house are many mansions...” very affirmative a statement. He went on to say that if it were not so He would have reframed His statement as “....I go to prepare a place for you” in other words, in my father’s house are mansions already built for you and I. Just like we noted earlier that Jesus made a very affirmative statement i.e. He was certain of the information He was giving us through them. What made Him so sure? John 1:1-3 says;

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. ALL THINGS WERE MADE BY HIM; AND WITHOUT HIM WAS NOT ANYTHING MADE THAT WAS MADE”

The above scripture unveils that there is nothing made that Jesus wasn’t privy to its creation. Hence, you will agree with me that the best fellow to ask for direction is someone who has either been to your destination before or has a current map lest your situation be one with that of a blind leader leading the blind and they both fall into the ditch. Now we have been able to establish that Jesus had first class information about His father’s house of which He was describing to us through His disciples. We'll continue from here tomorrow. Keep shinning.
