IN
MY FATHER’S HOUSE
“...he
said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare,
and I perish with hunger” Luke
15:17
You
will agree with me that one word which describes his father’s house is
“ABUNDANCE”. And that, you’ll see Jesus affirm as His major reason for coming
to the earth in John 10:10b, He said;
“...I
am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly”
God
knows no such thing as small, He deals in abundance and that is one reason I
will want you to take Jesus’ invitation very serious this time if you haven’t
accepted His Lordship. You will there agree with me that just as “ABUNDANCE”
defines the life in Jesus’ Father’s house, “POVERTY” accurately defines life
outside His father’s house. This should naturally raise a holy anger in you now
if the later defines your present state.
Friends,
there is nothing further than the truth in other words, truth is the last bus
stop of life and that’s why scripture says; when you come in contact with it
you are free indeed, John 8:32.
Hence,
you might begin to ponder why Jesus had to make such statement as “in My
Father’s house are many mansions....”; what was He trying to tell us through
His disciples? He was simply trying to say;
-that
He needs your attention. You’ll remember that satan administered the same
tactic in Matt 4:8. Now this not to say that Jesus did imitate satan but the
other way round.
-that
all things are set. You’ll also remember that God didn’t create man until the
Garden of Eden (his habitat) was set similarly, the king who prepared a banquet
for his son’s wedding didn’t send for his guest until the table had been set,
Luke 14:17. But until you accept His invitation you are not entitled to this
inheritance.
-that
there is more than enough to go round. A lie acting as a virus eating deep into
our world today is that there is not enough to go round everyone. God gave
every being taste/relish for different things so that there will be enough to
go round. For instance, not everybody likes BMW, Toyota, Mercedes Benz cars
respectively. In the same vein, the lie of not having enough was a slog in the
eyes of Phillip which made it impossible for him to see how five loaves of
bread and two fishes could feed a congregation of over five thousand members,
John 6:7. So never settle for such lies as “not enough everywhere” because it’s
not true for our father’s house.
In
conclusion, God is as simple as you see Him to be and as strict as you take Him
to be, that is why He is addressed as “I AM” you fill in who He is to you. For
me, I never stop telling people that God is a loving Father to me but a
consuming fire to His enemies. From the points above we have a blue print of
Jesus’ description of His father’s house as a place with so many mansions and
this takes us a step further into this topic. You will agree with me that I
don’t need to specially admonish you in any other way than Jesus has done; life
is incomparably better in Eden i.e. our father’s house than the outer world.
Scripture says;
“For
all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23
In
other words, all were born outside Eden following the fall of the first man
Adam. You’ll remember he was banished from the garden but glory to God who
loved us even before we were born and has prepared an escape route for us
through our Lord Jesus Christ. He is the way into Eden. You can’t go in without
Him taking the lead. Remember an Angel has been stationed at the entrance of
the garden to monitor all entries. Salvation is your ticket into this life of
peace and abundance! That is why I will admonish that you say after me now if
you are yet to join the chariot to Eden; “Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I am a
sinner, please forgive all my trespasses, wash me in Your blood and give me a
new beginning as I accept you as my Lord and personal Saviour from now on,
Amen”.
