This
part will shock you; do you know that the feats of these great men and women of
old to which we open our mouths in exclamation is not the limit. Interestingly,
there is no limit to what God can do with the believer who rides on the wings
of rhema because that’s where He resides too, 1Corinthians 2:9 says;
“But
as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into
the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him”
In
other words, what you have ever heard, seen or imagined is nothing compared to
what could still be done on the wings of rhema. That is why even Jesus at His
level of exploits still said;
“Verily,
verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he
do also; and greater works than these shall he do...” John 14:12
In
the kingdom of God where we are privileged to belong by His grace through our
Lord Jesus, abundance is our watchword, John 10:10b. There will always be more
land to conquer till eternity. God knows no such thing as “not enough” or
finished. The couple who got wedded in John 2:1-11 and the Five/Four thousand
that were fed in John 6:1-13 testifies to this truth.
Furthermore,
Hebrew 11: points out that even the men and women of exploits we have read
about never dug to the core of the benefits which accrue on the wings of rhema,
it puts it thus;
“And
these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the
promise”
In
other words, the stopping of the mouths of lions, putting to flight armies of
nations, raising the dead etc was not enough to deliver the promise. What
message does this pass across to us? It is that there are still mind blowing
inventions and feats expected of us by God in our life time, Hebrews 11: says;
“God
having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be
made perfect”
Wao!
Something better? Things like these move me, they inspire me to have great
expectation. This is the root of thinking big to grow big. God is saying to you
that there better things in stock for you than you have ever seen anyone
accomplish in your generation.
Hence,
if we refuse to accomplish this great task, those Generals of old would have
lived a useless life even with all their exploits. Hebrews 12:1 says;
“Wherefore
seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses...”
Just
like the supporter club; they are watching and cheering us from the grand stand
in Heaven above. Yes, they are many but your input is needed for them to be
called winners indeed. It is like a relay race, if the first, second and third
legs are extremely fast but the last leg even though fast falls and refuses to
get up, will they be said to have won the race because the first three legs
were extremely good? No! In the same manner, everyone counts in this race;
there is a path marked out for you to cover in your lifetime, Hebrews 12:1
“...let
us run with patience the race that is set before us...”
Let
this motivate you to live a life of purpose; you are being watched by a cloud
of witness who themselves have partaken in the race. When the first, second
legs etc finishes the distance marked out to them, they go on to join the
others to cheer their colleagues up. Having a closer look at relay racing as
our master piece on this subject, the first, second or third leg cannot run the
fourth legs race because he fell, no. The good thing there is that the
wonderful ability or speed of the first, second or third leg can compensate for
the third leg even if he is weak or falls and rises to continue the race. That
is the wonder of the provision made for us on the wings of rhema, Jesus said;
“I
sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye
are entered into their labours”
John 4:38
This
is wonderful friend; that you are sent to reap the labour of others. They have
paid the price, we are just to take salvation as our receipt to pick up the
items, wao! Little wonder we are
addressed as more than conquerors in Romans 8:37. It is being said, if you
can’t fly, run; if you can’t run, walk; if you can’t walk, crawl; at all cost
keep moving.
Finally
1Corinthians 9:24 reads;
“Know
ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So
run, that ye may obtain”
If
you don’t participate in a race or you didn’t finish though you started it; you
are not entitle to a prize. Prizes are for those who finish their race. In all,
run because we are being awaited by those gone ahead of us! Enjoy.
