INTRODUCTION
These series will practically move you to unimaginable heights. As
I made to have my shower one morning the Holy Spirit impressed on my heart to
prepare this message for you of which He had ministered to me personally
earlier on that morning. The life of the believer is one designed by God to be
a catalogue of success. By default, believers should amass trophies of success
on a daily basis but the secret to this life of unending exploits is still
blurred to many in the body of Christ today. This accounts for why only a hand
full of believers are really found at the ivory towers of life which isn’t
supposes to be. Scripture says concerning Christ our foundation in Isaiah 9:6;
“For
unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and THE GOVERNMENT SHALL BE
UPON HIS SHOULDER: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The
mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace”
In
other words, He is broad-shouldered enough to bear the believer up so that
he/she doesn’t dash his/her foot against stones. Their reign shall be upon His
shoulder. 1Peter 2:9 says;
“...ye
are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people;
that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of
darkness into his marvellous light”
When
God looks at a believer He sees a Chosen generation, a Royal Priesthood, a Holy
Nation and a Peculiar people. A so-called nation without a government is not a nation.
Believers by virtue of their profession of faith in Christ are separate from
the outer world. Even though they live in the world, they are not governed by
the governmental system of the world. Our government as believers is that of
Heaven and that’s why Jesus said as He taught His disciples to pray in Matthew
6:9-11;
“...Thy
kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven...”
In
other words, once you give your life to Christ you are indirectly saying God
Kingdom governmental system come to replace the world’s governmental system
which is full of tribulation according to John 16v33. 2Corinthians 5:17 goes on
to say;
“Therefore
if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away;
behold, all things are become new”
Just
to buttress the fact that believers are not partakers of the world’s
governmental system. 2Peter 1:3-4 reads;
“According
as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and
godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and
virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that
by these ye might be PARTAKERS OF THE DIVINE NATURE, having escaped the
corruption that is in the world through lust”
Believers
are partakers of the Divine nature i.e. God’s nature and that is why 1John 4v4
says;
“Ye
are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that
is in you, than he that is in the world”
In
other words, we believers are owned and governed by God and are therefore not
subject to the opinion of any other, not even the prince of this world, the
devil. We will proceed from here tomorrow. God bless you.
