ON FIRE FOR GOD

I desire to be seen as a burning fire everywhere I go; my planes, cars, Houses etc should be on fire visible to the naked eyes and I constantly make these desires of mine known to God frequently because that is where we should be naturally. We are untouchable because though we are unconscious of this on-fire-life we live as Christians does not nullify its reality and the devil knows it.

Apostle Paul admonishes Timothy to fan to flame the gift of God in him, 2Timothy 1v6. However, it is not enough to catch fire, there is a need for you to continue fanning to flame by meditation on God’s word else you will burnout, 1Timothy 4v15, Joshua 1v8.

Furthermore, let’s look into a few events where we’ll see men on fire for God and how much their lives were never comparable in any way with the ordinary.
Firstly in Exodus 3v2, an angel appeared to Moses in a burning bush but the most terrific part is that while the bush burned it wasn’t consumed and it drew the attention of Moses because he said;

“...I turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt” Exodus 3v3

The desire to know why the bush burnt and wasn’t consumed turned his life around. That is exactly what you should be to your world. Many should turn to see why you burn and are not consumed. I must say that Moses’ desire to know became a stepping stone for him from which he never recovered till death because there was no time he didn’t have things to do with God. Today you can’t talk or write about Moses and not mention God.

Secondly in Daniel 3, we have the record of the three Hebrew Boys who will by no level of treat bow to another god other than God. They were thrown into the fiery furnace which had been heated seven times hotter than usual; it was so hot that the flame killed those who threw them into it but something strange happened.

Having bound and thrown them into the fire; Jesus showed up to join them in the fire in fulfilment to His promise in Isaiah 43v2 and the King saw it. He was so surprised because the chains that were used to bind them had burnt off and they were just enjoying God’s presence. The King ordered that they be brought out and they became amazements to their world, Daniel 4v27 says;

“And the princes, governors, and captains, and the kings counsellors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them”

You can’t be on fire for God and not be seen of men because they will want to know why things are working for you the way they do, Isaiah 60v2 says they will come to your light. These young men were neither consumed nor moved but became stars as it were. Hence what was meant for their destruction turned out for their up-liftment because they were promoted after this great unforgettable feat, Daniel 3v30

Friends, what kills others shouldn’t have the slightest effect on you. You are not a part of the masses because salvation as singled you out. Jesus said nothing is permitted to by any means hurt you, Luke 10v19.

Finally in Acts 2, we see the Disciples on fire for God and the timid becomes as bold as the Lion. You can’t be on fire for God and not do extra-ordinary things because by reason of the fire you are supernaturally empowered to do things you are naturally not able to do. Fire exposes! Acts 2v3 says;

“And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire and it sat upon each of them”

If it is not fire then it is not fire because you don’t compare death with sleep. This simple event brought about a complete turnaround in the life of Peter and other disciples such that the same man who denied Jesus before a maid could now boldly stand before the crowd to preach and three thousand gave their lives to Christ that day.

However very few carry this fire today and they are the few marking the sands of time in the ministry. I think it is high time you catch fire because you are already under pressure and much more keep burning for Christ. God bless you.
