ASK FOR WISDOM TO BE EXCELLENT

“But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God” 1 Cor 1:24

Also Colossians 2:3 reads thus;

“In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge”

Jesus Christ is both the Wisdom and Power of God according to our opening scripture to which our second text testifies that He is the custodian of all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Hence for you to live and excellent Christian life, you have need for wisdom which is Christ. That is why accepting Christ as Lord and Saviour is not optional for the wise but a necessity.

If God were to pay you a visit and offers you a blank cheque saying; ask what you want, you might make the mistake of highlighting all your problems one after the other if you don’t know that wisdom is the principal thing and it possesses within its reach the ability to produce anything. For without Him, there is nothing that was or will be made that would be possible. Hence, with wisdom all things are possible.

WHY WISDOM?
1                   Wisdom is the supreme acquisition, Prov 4:7, Prov 8:11
2                   It is only a fool that will see death and will not take every precaution to avoid it, a wise man does no court sin because he knows that the wages of sin is death, Rom 6:23, Ezek 18:4 Prov 6:27
3                   With the wisdom of God comes other blessings, even the one you did not ask for 1 kings 3:11-14, Prov 3:13-18
4                   Jesus Christ is the wisdom of God. He that has Jesus Christ will have peace, joy, victory etc 1Cor 1:24, 30
5                   Wisdom swill make you to win souls, Prov 11:30
6                   You need the wisdom of God to confound the enemies of God, Luke 21:15
7                   The fear of God is true wisdom, Job 28:28
8                   Wisdom is full of spiritual fruits, James 3:17
9                   Wisdom is an immovable foundation, Matt 7:24

In conclusion, the things that one may desire are not to be compared to wisdom. If you want God to visit you, praise Him!
