THE EXCELLENT CHRISTIAN

“For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God: That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified. For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness” 1 Thessalonians 4:3-7

Our calling as believers is unto holiness according to our opening scripture. We are called unto perfection because God is perfect and whatever He finds expression in assumes that same status. There are different Categories of Christians. Some are saved and not sanctified while others are saved and sanctified. The Latter ones are the excellent Christians and that’s where you should belong naturally as born again Christians.

ATTRIBUTE OF THE EXCELLENT CHRISTIAN

Excellent Christians are chosen few who are sanctified and set apart for God. Sanctified people are difficult to annoy Eccl 7:9. They continually offer praises to God Psl 107:22, Heb 13:15. Excellent Christian do all things perfect as God would do it, Matt 5:48. They are also disciplined, striving higher to become spiritual giants, Phil 3:7-15.

QUALIFICATION OF AN EXCELLENT CHRISTIAN

2                   Let your faith anchor on Jesus Christ alone, 1 Cor 15:58, Heb 12:1-2

3                   Be Jesus’ true disciples, Matt 16:24
