POWER TO WITNESS

“But ye shall receive power...” Acts 1:8

Neither the beauty of your tracts, auditorium and website nor the your eloquence, TV Prog, Theology degrees etc can attract souls or witness Jesus to the world especially when you intend to go very far in such a ministry. With the power to witness you will only be a sounding brass.

One of those who at the very early stage of his ministry harnessed this power was Dr David Youngi Cho. Also the secret of the tremendous expansion noticed in The Redeemed Christian Church of God worldwide is traceable to this power. Now you are beginning to wonder who or what this power is. I will show you in a moment. Permit to say that not even in any sphere of life can you be heard without this power back up. Every outstanding and notable event in life has its accolades accorded this power. A feast/event called Pentecost amongst the Jews has become a name after which many Christian denominations have named them because the power in question was first experienced on the day of Pentecost.

WHAT OR WHO IS THE POWER TO WITNESS?
I don’t want to believe it was a coincidence or accidental; I believe it was to gain more attraction from visitors which were a crowd for the feast. Now what is this power to witness? Lets read Acts 1:8 in full;

“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth”

The power to witness is the Holy Spirit. Time wouldn’t permit me to dig too deep into describing the Holy Spirit. We are in the dispensation of the Holy Spirit in other words; the Holy Spirit is presently in charge of the world. We have had the dispensation of God the Father and God the son for a while and now God the Holy Spirit. Let me add that the millennium reign as described in Rev 11:15b saying;

“...The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever”

Hence, the power to witness is the Holy Spirit without who every effort you make will be void regardless of whether it is to the benefit of God’s kingdom or not; one fact must be clear and that is the recognition of the person of the Holy Spirit as the power behind a successful soul-winning ministry. You can therefore to no other than yourself without the Holy Spirit. You need Him to access anything in life at least for the time being. He said for without Me you can do nothing, John 15:5b. Also He said in John 9:5 that;

“As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world”

In other words, for as long as you live during His reign you cannot boycott Him to achieve anything. If He doesn’t build for you, you will only be laboring in vein also, if He doesn’t watch for you, you will only be awake in vein. The highest level in any chosen carrier will profit anything more than He permits.

Conclusively, the Holy Spirit is indispensable when it comes to witnessing.
