SETTING THE CAPTIVES FREE

“And the LORD spake unto Moses, Go unto Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Let my people go, that they may serve me. And if thou refuse to let them go, behold, I will smite all thy borders with frogs” EXODUS 8:1-2

Interestingly one could be in bondage with him or her knowing. That is to say that it is not only those in prison or that are bond with chains that are in bondage. As a matter of fact, the most dangerous form of bandages is those invisible to the naked eye. Also the people of God can be in bondage. They can be in bondage to sickness, John 5:13-14, Luke 13:16 and even demons if they open the door, Act 5:1-3.

HOW DO PEOPLE BECOME CAPTIVE?

1                   Some are born captive because the child of a  slave is a slave

2                   Some people achieve captivity. For example, some join secret societies and some swallow charms because they want to be rich

3                   Some are made captive. They are dedicated to one idol or the other, even while still in the womb while many others were taken to the shrine of idols and dedicated to the idol

4                   Some become captive through curses. Many come from families that have been carrying curses for years

5                   Some are lured into captivity for example, a woman who got initiated into Witchcraft while trying to protect  her children

SURELY HE SHALL DELIVER YOU

Jesus made an open announcement in Matt 11:28 saying “come unto Me all ye that are heavily laden (burdened) and I will give you rest). There are some people who know that they are captives without any doubt. Some are aware that they may be in bondage but are not too sure. Some are completely ignorant that they are captive just like I said in my introduction. Whatever is your captivity status, there is a deliverer. His name is Jesus, Isaiah 49:25-26 says;

“But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children. And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob”

Conclusively, God has sent me to tell you that He will set you free so that you can serve him. But you must be willing to be free; talk to Him now.
