“And
when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one
place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind,
and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto
them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they
were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as
the Spirit gave them utterance” Acts
2:1-4
You
and many in the body of Christ have always and only know the Holy Spirit as the
third person in the Trinity but I will by God’s grace be taking you steps
further today in your knowledge of Him. Anyone who wants to succeed and be
relevant in God’s Kingdom today and make it to heaven must fellowship with Holy
Spirit. He is the doer of the word of God and as a matter of fact, He is
presently in charge of the earth’s affair.
And
let me correct one notion which I think you might have been sharing with others
out there and that is; the Holy Spirit is not in any way less than God the Father
and Son, they are all one and the same.
WHO IS HE?
He is the third person of the trinity, 2 Cor 13:14
(11) He is another Comforter, John 14:16 (111) A teacher par excellence, John
14:26 (iv) The one who guides into all the truth, John 16:13, John 14:17 (v)
The glorifiers of Jesus, John 16:14 (vi) The source of divine power, Act 1:8
(vii) The divine seal, Eph 1:13
WHY DO YOU NEED TO KNOW THE HOLY SPIRIT
INTIMATELY?
The
definition of who He is should be enough but we can add some other things:
1 The Holy Spirit orchestrated your salvation and your
sanctification, Heb 9:14. He helped Jesus to die so that we could be saved
2 He orchestrated your sanctification, Rom 15:16: 2 Thes
2:13
3 He assures you that you are saved when you begin to
have doubt Rom 8:16.
4 It is the Holy Spirit that keeps you safe, 1 Peter
1:3-5
5 The Holy spirit is the one who helps you to deal with
the flesh, Rom 8:13
6 He helps you to pray and intercedes for you, Rom
8:26-27
7 If he leaves you, trouble comes, weakness follows,
Judges 16:18-20, the joy of salvation goes, Psalms 51:12, the relationship
between you and Christ would be gone, Rom 8:9, Psalms 51:11
